After making her first-ever football wager on the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko lost ₦5 million.
According to Naija News, the World Cup match between Argentina and Spain attracted attention from all around the world and led to a lot of betting among football fans, including some who had never played before like Etiko.
Shortly after the game concluded on Sunday night, Destiny Etiko posted on Instagram to express her disappointment, calling the experience both emotionally and financially taxing.
The movie star expressed sadness about losing ₦5 million and emphasized that she was done watching sports. She also pledged never to try betting again.
Destiny Etiko claims that she was overwhelmed by the stress of watching the game with so much money on the line.
“It was my first time betting and I lost,” she wrote. I’ll never give it another go. My N5 million has vanished. I’m actually done watching football. I nearly died from anxiety.
In other events, Destiny Etiko recently criticized an unidentified coworker for behavior that she claimed was extremely painful and detrimental to her reputation.
She claimed in an Instagram post that although she has forgiven the offender, she will never be able to forget the betrayal, which has caused her personal suffering and grief for her family.
