Before going on stage, I smoke and pray, says Rema

Afrobeats musician Rema has talked about his pre-stage routine, which includes drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and praying.

According to Naija News, the Calm Down singer talked to Dazed during Milan Fashion Week, when he strutted the Diesel runway.

He clarified that he drinks a little tequila, lights a cigarette, prays, and makes sure everything is set up correctly with his crew before every performance.

He claims that modeling on the runway is less taxing than acting on stage.

He claimed that in order to maintain audience interest throughout a live performance, breathing control and appropriate energy balance are essential.

Rema also disclosed that live Sudanese folk music has been an inspiration to him recently.

He acknowledged that his greatest weakness is still smoking.

The singer, who is well-known for his energetic stage presence and unique sound, claimed that he deliberately tries to engage with his audience while maintaining a high caliber of performance.

“A little tequila, a little cigarettes, pray, just tap in with the team and make sure they got everything on cue,” he added. Walking the runway is less stressful than performing. My biggest vice is smoking cigarettes. I already have the money, so I like fashionable women over rich ones.
