In the Yoruba cinema business, Nigerian actress Ajara Lasisi, also referred to as Aunty Ajara, passed away.
Her family confirmed that she died early on Thursday.
In a video message posted online, her brother Ridwan Lasisi broke the news and thanked the family for the assistance that coworkers and the general public provided during her sickness.
He urged the public to refrain from giving money intended for her medical treatment and praised the film industry for their generosity.
“Good morning, everyone. Ridwan Lasisi is my name. For Ajara, I am a brother. Ajara’s death was confirmed by the doctor this morning, he said.
We would want to take this opportunity to thank all of the families. We are grateful to the president and other members of the industry.
We also take this chance to urge anyone who are sending money to stop doing so. For her sake, we are no longer contributing. I really appreciate it. You are not permitted to deposit funds into that account once again.
Last week, Lasisi’s health issues came to light following a request for support from fellow actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke.
Despite intense medical care and the tremendous expense of therapy, Oshodi-Oke revealed that the actress had been hospitalized in severe condition, reliant on an oxygen machine, and that her health was still deteriorating.
