2020 was a year that tested and altered the course of Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake.
According to Naija News, he recalls overcoming obstacles that at the time appeared to be setbacks but ultimately served as the basis for his musical breakthrough.
The Sungba crooner claimed in an interview with Korty EO that the time helped him learn patience and humility as he dealt with life’s difficulties.
Asake recorded the single that signaled the beginning of his career ascent during that year.
The triumph followed a time of hardship, demonstrating how tenacity in trying times can result in unanticipated opportunity.
Asake also disclosed his intentions to pursue a career outside of Nigeria.
He revealed that he was committed to exploring the international music industry and had long sought possibilities in Los Angeles.
After arriving in California, he totally embraced the experience, concentrating on his work and striving to fulfill his aspirations.
“2020 was a serious year,” he declared. I was very humbled by life. You know when God puts something delicious in your mouth and then takes it away? That’s what took place in 2020.
“I had no idea that God was creating me at the time. I didn’t anticipate it. After giving me “Me I no dey cap, me I no dey form,” God stopped giving me.
Los Angeles was a place I liked before I traveled. I even told my buddies that I was going to move to California and abandon this nation. I didn’t overthink it, then. I thought, “Bro, I will be here,” as soon as I arrived in California. Mehn, let me simply live my fantasy.
