According to Naija News, the event happened as the victim, Lekan, was at a water fountain on the campus’s southern side.
Witnesses said that Lekan had gone to take out the trash before pausing to wash his hands.
He was electrocuted after he made touch with a nearby metal railing while trying to turn off a faucet.
The seller was by himself until a security guard detected something was off and sounded an alarm, alerting the neighborhood, according to a student who talked to Punch under the condition of anonymity.
Before he was sent to the campus Accident & Emergency center, students in the vicinity attempted to revive him.
However, the medical facility later declared Lekan deceased.
Around ten in the morning, the incident occurred.
After being notified, the Lagos State Police Command went to the medical facility and the spot.
To ascertain the cause of the electrocution, engineers also conducted an inspection of the location.
