The Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to stepping up air operations against terrorist and insurgent elements has been reaffirmed by Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, who also stated that the Service is still fully committed to taking swift, intelligence-driven action in all theaters.
The CAS characterized the engagement as a key warfighting review forum that aims to improve operational performance and expedite the restoration of peace across the country at a strategic discussion with Air Component Commanders (ACCs) on Tuesday.
According to Air Marshal Aneke, the meeting offered a chance to thoroughly assess current missions, fill operational gaps, and match plans with new threats.
He emphasized that counter-insurgency operations require constant pressure on adversaries, quickness, and accuracy.
Through exceptional coordination, creativity, and unrelenting professionalism, we must rule the operating space. We must get closer to complete security restoration with each operation, sortie, and choice,” he urged.
The Nigerian Air Force would continue to provide overwhelming airpower to support ground forces and joint operations, the CAS emphasized.
The CAS commended the ACCs and their staff for their bravery, tenacity, and operational discipline in the face of extreme battle conditions.
Their sacrifices, he said, have resulted in quantifiable improvements in weakening insurgent capabilities and upsetting adversarial networks.
He claims that these successes are a reflection of his Command Philosophy, which aims to create a highly motivated, mission-ready force that can produce significant outcomes.
“Our strongest asset continues to be our workforce. The Nigerian Air Force is ready, focused, and battle-ready, as evidenced by their tenacity in the face of difficulty,” he stated.
However, Air Marshal Aneke issued a warning, stating that the security environment is still dynamic and necessitates ongoing adjustment.
In order to keep up with changing threats, he gave commanders instructions to step up intelligence-led operations, strengthen interagency cooperation, and make the most of contemporary technologies.
In order to maintain combat effectiveness over time, he emphasized the significance of standardized training, predictive maintenance, and quick logistics support.
Branch Chiefs and senior officers contributed to a single operational roadmap during the conference, which included interactive reviews and thorough operational briefings.
The Nigerian Air Force is keeping up its unrelenting operational tempo and will not give in to forces that pose a threat to the stability of the country, the CAS reassured Nigerians.
He emphasized that the defense of citizens, national resources, and territorial integrity serve as the foundation for all military decisions. “The Nigerian Air Force protects the country.” We continue to be alert, combative, and completely in line with our constitutional obligation to protect the nation,” he declared.
The public is reassured by the NAF that its operating posture is intended to produce long-term security benefits.
He stated that until a sustainable peace is achieved, the Air Force will keep developing, fortifying alliances, and using forceful airpower.
As the CAS reaffirmed that the future is characterized by tenacity, professionalism, and an unwavering resolve to defend the country, Nigerians were asked to maintain their faith in the Armed Forces’ dedication.
