Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has achieved yet another milestone at Villa Park, becoming the fastest manager in the club’s history to register his 100th victory as manager.
According to BBC Sport, Villa’s victory over Lille OSC in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League round-of-16 match cemented the milestone.
In just 181 games, the Spaniard achieved the 100-win milestone, yielding a 55.2% win percentage. That easily surpasses the previous standard set by former manager Ron Saunders and is the finest record of any manager in Aston Villa’s history.
It took Saunders four seasons to accomplish the same goal. After leading the team back to the top division, winning two League Cups, and winning the First Division in 1980–1981 before their historic victory in the European Cup in 1982, he is still regarded as one of Villa’s most revered characters.
Only Mikel Arteta of Arsenal FC and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City have won more games during Emery’s tenure as Premier League manager, with 118 and 137, respectively.
The quickest managers to win 100 Premier League games are shown below.
- Pep Guardiola, 134 games
- 142 games for José Mourinho
- Jürgen Klopp, 159 games

- Rafael BenÃtez: 181 games
- 187 games for Claudio Ranieri
