The opposition is gaining momentum, which makes the APC nervous—Dele Momodu

According to Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is uneasy about the opposition’s increasing power throughout the nation.

In an appearance with Sunrise Daily on Channels Television on Wednesday, Momodu made the assertion.

He claims that the opposition is gaining support and applying pressure to the federal administration as a result of recent political developments.

“You can see that even the government is nervous, forget about their propaganda, and the opposition is gaining momentum,” he declared.

“The ruling party is obviously nervous, which is why they are going all out, frantically, to try to showcase and pretend that all is well,” he continued.

According to Momodu, the ruling party is experiencing internal conflicts in a number of states, which runs counter to the party’s declared unity.

However, you will notice that the APC is a home of disturbance if you read today’s news. He stated, “They are fighting themselves like babies fighting for lollipops from Benue State to Zamfara State and so many other places.”

The chairman of the ADC also denounced the surge of people defecting to the ruling party, saying that many of them are doing so out of fear rather than conviction.

“Everyone who visits the APC these days does so for a variety of reasons,” he stated.

“You are terrified of serving a second term if you are a governor. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is a source of fear for governors. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission is a source of fear for governors.

Momodu further said that some governors are motivated by a fear of legal and political pressure.

“As a governor, you are terrified of a lot of things, including your own shadow,” he remarked.

Political office holders feel forced to surrender to the ruling party, according to his description of the situation.

Momodu continued, “A governor will willingly enter slavery and servitude because they are aware that the leadership they are dealing with is not a regular leadership; it is not Goodluck Jonathan.”

He insisted that as the opposition reorganizes in advance of the 2027 elections, the current political environment reflects growing strain inside the ruling party.
