Tambuwal’s membership is rejected by the ADC faction.

A portion of the African Democratic Congress in Sokoto State has refuted rumors that Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the former governor of the state and senator from Sokoto South, has joined the party, claiming there is no documentation of his membership in the state.

According to Naija News, the group claimed that Tambuwal had not gotten any formal notification from the party leadership in Sokoto and that the correct procedure for joining the party had not been followed.

Party membership must start at the ward level, according to the faction, which is led by Umar Faruk, the state chairman.

The leadership claims that before the party will recognize a new member, they must first register in their district.

Checks were conducted with party officials in Tambuwal’s ward and local government area, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s publicity secretary, Murtala Aliyu.

According to the officials, they were unaware that the former governor had joined the party.

According to the statement, the party leadership made contact with Aminu Tambari, the party chairman in Tambuwal Local Government Area, as well as the ADC chairperson in Tambuwal Ward.

According to reports, both party officials claimed not to be aware of any information indicating Tambuwal had joined the ADC.

According to the faction, the party’s constitution makes it very clear that membership cannot be organized in private or through people who are not part of the ward organization.

It clarified that before being admitted, each new member must go through the ward chairman and finish the necessary procedures.

According to the statement, “the party leadership in the ward and local government where Senator Tambuwal hails confirmed that they were neither informed nor consulted about the alleged defection, as required by the party’s constitution and procedures.”
