Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed are not opposition figures, according to former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
According to Naija News, in an interview with media in Abuja regarding Mohammed’s alleged defection, Sowore claimed the governor had always been a member of the “corruption” system and had never been an opponent.
The human rights activist claims that Mohammed’s term as Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister was more corrupt than that of current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
According to Sowore, there is no distinction between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I disagree with you; Bala Mohammed was never an opposition person,” he declared. How can you refer to Bala Mohammed as the opposition when he is a crook like Tinubu and Wike? How can robbers fight other robbers? It’s not feasible.
“You just use all these terms to qualify criminals, that’s what I always tell you folks. I could never have joined them because of this.
“I was the first to alert you to the fact that the PDP and ADC are same parties with different names. APC, ADC, and PD are all the same.
How can you refer to Bala Mohammed, a criminal like Nyesom Wike and Bola Tinubu, as an opposition?
“Are you aware that Bala Mohammed was the FCT’s former minister? You are referring to him as opposition when he performed worse than Wike. He was detained and charged with corruption by the Federal High Court along with his son.
Additionally, Sowore denied that Peter Obi is an alternative political force, emphasizing that his current political connections with ADC members run counter to his previous criticism.
Sowore also asserted that during the 2023 election cycle, Peter Obi had deceived his supporters.
“You say Peter Obi is an opposition, but we know him, so we say he opposes nothing, nobody,” he stated.
If Peter Obi were an opposition, he would never have found himself in a party with Nasir El-Rufai as a member, Abubakar Malami as the primary sponsor, or the individuals he called the “structure of criminality” almost three years ago.
“Peter Obi is a man who deceived you, packaged himself, and tricked you all.
“You ought to apologize to those of us who have been telling you that he was deceiving you since 2022.”
