PRP says the party is not for sale and rejects the ADC takeover plot.

Declaring unequivocally that the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) cannot be purchased or taken over, the party rejected an attempt by a group associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to seize control of its leadership.

Abdulmajid Yakubu Dauda, the chairman of PRP Vanguard, stated in a speech in Kano on Monday that the party is still devoted to its original principles and will not permit it to be used as an instrument for financial or personal benefit.

He cautioned anyone approaching the party to exercise caution, stating that the PRP is closed to any kind of purchase or covert agreement.

According to Naija News, Dauda claimed that some Kaduna-based people who were never a part of the PRP were attempting to seize control of the organization.

He claims that these people are now taking on leadership roles and inviting members of the ADC and other struggling political parties to join the PRP without following the correct procedures.

Additionally, he said that members of the group he referred to as the “Kaduna Mafia” do not embody the principles of the PRP. He claimed that they belong to the political elite and do not share the party’s long-standing emphasis on the well-being of common Nigerians.

The leader of PRP Vanguard stated that there is no agreement for reconciliation with any group and that the party’s present internal issue is still pending in court. Before the 2027 elections, he questioned demands for unity, wondering what form of unity would disregard the party’s fundamental principles and current structures.

According to Dauda, the PRP has a lengthy history that stems from the battles of common people, intellectuals, and workers. He claimed that the party was not founded to support affluent interests or be dominated by a small number of people.

He went on to say that giving the party over to those he characterized as power-hungry professional politicians would go against everything the founders believed in. Additionally, he claimed that the Kaduna organization only gets involved during election seasons in an effort to secure funding from affluent sponsors and has no link to grassroots supporters.
