PDP Crisis: Wike says we shouldn’t go to the Supreme Court since he understands the ramifications—Chieftain

Umar Sani, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has discussed the decisions that important party members must make as well as the ongoing leadership conflicts inside the party.

In an interview with Symfoni TV, Sani clarified that Nyesom Wike seems hesitant to take the case to the Supreme Court, realizing that a legal struggle at the highest level could prolong the disagreement and make it more difficult to settle internal party disputes.

He pointed out that the party does not now have a fully recognized National Working Committee, which could exacerbate divides among members and complicate matters if legal processes continue on.

Sani stated that the PDP’s National Executive Committee and Board of Trustees are still in operation despite the uncertainty surrounding its leadership.

These organizations are managing the dispute, making sure party regulations are adhered to, and attempting to maintain party stability.

He said that leaders may concentrate on rapprochement, enlisting new members, and getting ready for future elections by delaying an immediate Supreme Court appeal.

Sani went on to say that delaying joining the Supreme Court should be viewed as a calculated political move rather than a sign of weakness.

In order to fortify the party ahead of upcoming political problems, Wike and other prominent PDP figures are concentrating on communication, compromise, and negotiation.

“Wike is saying we shouldn’t go to the Supreme Court because he knows the implications,” he stated. This course of action could prolong the dispute and make it more difficult to settle internal party disputes.
