Lauretta Onochie, a former media assistant to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, believes that Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, is the most qualified candidate to lead the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before the party’s presidential primaries.
The ADC presidential primary is set for today, Monday, according to Naija News.
Few Nigerian politicians have the same background as Atiku, according to a post made by Onochie on her 𝕏 Twitter. She emphasized that the former presidential candidate can provide ADC the best chance to win the 2027 presidential election and rule Nigeria.
Onochie emphasized that ADC members must make sure Atiku is the party’s nominee if the organization hopes to create history.
“Politics is not an award for effort, and it is not about sentiments,” she declared. It is an assessment of readiness, capability, national reach, and the capacity to seize power and lead successfully.
“As ADC gets ready for its 2027 presidential primary, members need to focus on one issue above all else: Who offers ADC the best chance to win Nigeria and run a prosperous government? HE. Atiku Abubakar is the obvious choice for many party loyalists.
“Atiku offers experience, national acceptance, coalition-building ability, economic understanding, and political resilience—qualities that very few Nigerian politicians can truly claim.
“Members must select a candidate with national scope, proven endurance, and the ability to turn ambition into governance if ADC wants to not just make history but win history.”
