Galadima: Why Atiku Needs to Join Peter Obi and Kwankwaso in the NDC

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has been asked to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and collaborate with other opposition leaders to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections by NDC leader Buba Galadima.

He claims that if Atiku declines to join the NDC, he will be held accountable if the opposition ultimately fails to remove Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

According to Naija News, Galadima made the decision on Monday while speaking on Channels Television.

In order to present a unified opposition front, the elder statesman claims that all opposition gladiators, including former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, are already members of the NDC and that Atiku must join them, just as they followed him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“The reality is that Peter Obi and Kwankwaso moved into the ADC; they brought unity of opposition to unseat Tinubu,” he stated. Regretfully, there are rumors that Tinubu, the administration, and the APC exploited the legal system to remove the opposition.

For this reason, I’m calling on former vice president Atiku Abubakar to follow us into the ADC so that there would be a united opposition to overthrow this government. If he doesn’t, Atiku will be held accountable.

“In actuality, all of the political gladiators are now in the NDC. If someone is outside, such as Kwankwaso, who was outside and convinced to join the ADC, we are also begging Atiku to join the NDC so that we can reunite and overthrow the current administration.

“He has agreed to forfeit his right to run in the 2027 election if he refuses to do that, or else he has scuttled the unity of the opposition to unseat this government because he cannot continue to be in the ADC.”

Following the departure of former presidential candidate Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku on Monday denied rumors that he intended to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Naija News, Atiku called allegations of his impending defection to the NDC “fake news” in a statement sent by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu.

Shaibu refuted allegations that Atiku had secret defection negotiations with NDC officials in a statement captioned “This is FAKE NEWS.”
