Isa Ali Pantami, a former minister of communications and digital economy, has voiced his displeasure with the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus on governorship for the 2027 election.
Pantami, who is running for the APC governorship in Gombe State, also promised to oppose the consensus, calling it an injustice, in an interview with BBC Hausa.
According to Naija News, the former minister stated in the interview that if the APC held a direct primary, he would receive the party’s ticket.
However, he said that he would take the issue to court and threatened to contest the consensus agreement. He went on to say that he doesn’t care if it means losing his life.
“Even if it means losing my life, I would fight against this injustice of the Gombe APC governorship consensus. Everyone is aware that we will prevail in a direct primary. Pantami pledged, “I will fight it legally if there is no justice, a fight like never seen in Nigeria.”
