Ben Murray-Bruce, a former lawmaker who represented the Bayelsa East Senatorial District, has denied rumors that he was disqualified or had pulled out of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial contest.
In advance of the 2027 general elections, the APC made public the complete list of senatorial candidates who were not approved to run in the party’s Senate Primary Elections.
Senators Ben Murray Bruce of Bayelsa, Garba Musa Mai Doki of Kebbi, Bello Abudullahi Bodejo of Taraba, and Banigo Ipalibo of Rivers State are among those who have not been cleared.
According to Naija News, the former senator claimed in a post on 𝕏 that the rumors circulating were unexpected and untrue.
He continued by saying that it prompted him to contact Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairperson of the APC, to find out why such a falsehood was spread.
He made it quite evident that he had neither withdrawn nor been barred from participating in any party processes.
Additionally, he advised media to exercise greater caution and double-check information before releasing political reporting, particularly while the facts are still being developed.
“This report is fallacious,” he wrote. It caught me off guard when I saw it on your platform. I wanted to know why you would report such a situation, so I called Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the Chairman of our wonderful party, the All Progressives Congress. I have not been disqualified or withdrew. It would be in the greatest interest of journalistic excellence to use care and verification instead of using haste in your reporting because these are highly fluid times.
