With four wins apiece, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are tied for first place in the UEFA Champions League Man of the Match rankings this season.
Galatasaray, Osimhen’s team, was eliminated from the competition after losing to Liverpool in the round of 16. However, ahead of the May 30 final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal FC in Budapest, the Nigerian striker continues to be one of the tournament’s best players.
On September 30, 2025, Osimhen scored his first goal in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at RAMS Park.
On October 22, he scored a second goal in a 3-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt. On November 5, he scored a third goal following a hat-trick against AFC Ajax. In a 3-2 loss against Juventus FC, he scored his fourth goal, which helped Galatasaray advance to the round of 16.
For PSG, Kvaratskhelia has been on the rise lately. He won two in the French team’s doubleheader against Chelsea FC in March and received his most recent accolade in a 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Liverpool. In September 2025, he received his first honor in a 4-0 victory over Atalanta BC.
With three awards, Declan Rice is still within striking distance. After making an impression in Arsenal’s victories against Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, the midfield player excelled in the second leg of the semi-final matchup with Atletico Madrid.
In ten games during the European campaign, Osimhen scored seven goals and provided three assists. He and Kvaratskhelia had previously excelled together at Napoli, when they helped the team win the Serie A championship in 2022–2023.
Kvaratskhelia was crowned Player of the Year with 12 goals and 10 assists, while Osimhen finished as the leading scorer with 26 goals. Since then, Osimhen completed a €75 million transfer to Galatasaray in 2025 after an initial loan stint, and the Georgian winger joined PSG for €70 million.
