Kwankwaso’s spokesperson minimizes Gov. Yusuf’s defection, saying that “reality will speak for itself.”

The Kwankwasiyya Movement’s spokesperson, Habibu Saleh, stated that despite Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the movement’s strength is still intact.

Seleh revealed this in an interview with Daily Post, according to Naija News, in response to allegations that his principal, Rabiu Kwankwaso, now shares Kano’s political structure with Yusuf.

Saleh said that the political climate in Kano is not new, pointing out that even after former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje left the Kwankwasiyya Movement with many political supporters, the Movement persevered and eventually took back control.

He claimed that even though the group lost important members, including then-elected leaders, it reorganized and came back stronger, a trend he thinks will happen again.

He claims that the poor management of internal divisions inside Kano’s ruling apparatus could benefit Kwankwaso in the upcoming election.

He continued by saying that a lack of transparency regarding Kwankwaso’s political trajectory may be the cause of any misconceptions over his impact.

“On paper, it may look like that, but history has proven otherwise,” he stated. This is not the first time this has happened to us.

“We had no lawmakers, council members, or even political appointees at one point, but we recovered and regained control.”

We are now even more organized, and I promise that things won’t be the same. We’ll perform even better than we did previously.

“Kano’s current political system is poorly run, and there is improper alignment even within the APC and the government.”

“It’s important to overthrow this regime and provide Nigerians with a better option.

It’s possible that some people are unaware of Kwankwaso’s political career. However, we have faith that reality will speak for itself.
