The dates of the Computer-Based Aptitude Test for applicants taking part in the ongoing police recruitment process have been announced by the Police Service Commission (PSC) as April 28–30, 2026.
An important step in the selection process, the test is anticipated to be administered in all 36 of the federation’s states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
The Computer-Based Test will follow the nationwide physical and credentials screening procedure, which is set to conclude on April 18, according to Naija News.
According to authorities, the CBT will assess applicants’ fitness for joining the Nigeria Police Force.
Ahmad Rufa’i, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Sokoto State Police Command, stated in a statement that the aptitude test is an important step in the hiring process.
He stated, “The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is a crucial stage intended to guarantee that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force.”
Rufa’i clarified that the number of applicants and the availability of operational CBT centers would determine how long the test would take in each state.
While some states might finish the exercise in a single day, others might need the entire three-day window, he said.
Every qualified applicant would have an equal chance to participate, he continued, although the schedule is flexible to account for operational realities among states.
Candidates were encouraged by the police spokesperson to maintain composure and wait for official word regarding test locations and the shortlist of candidates.
It is recommended that candidates exercise patience and depend solely on information obtained through official channels. In due order, information about the locations and shortlisted applicants will be shared, according to Rufa’i.
Additionally, the command warned candidates not to rely on unreliable sources and emphasized that all information regarding the hiring procedure would be made available via official channels.
The leadership stated that a dedicated contact line has been made available for questions in order to guarantee successful public participation during the exercise.
