Fani-Kayode criticizes ADC, calling them “discredited individuals desperate for power.”

Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany, has called the African Democratic Congress (ADC) members “discredited people who are desperate for political power.”

According to Naija News, Fani-Kayode disregarded the ADC as a legitimate opposition movement in a Facebook post, emphasizing that they are unable to further the country’s development.

Citing internal strife and division as significant defeats, the former minister of aviation claims that the country’s opposition parties have essentially collapsed and failed in their fundamental function of keeping the government accountable.

He said that opposition leaders’ lack of unity has made them ineffectual and criticized them for engaging in infighting instead of launching a coordinated challenge.

“I don’t see ADC as an opposition party; I see them as an association of people who are desperate for power,” he declared.

“Those who are discredited and who have absolutely no chance of advancing our country. In Nigeria, the opposition has crumbled.

They don’t even know how to be in opposition, so there isn’t any. When they are occupied with squabbling and fighting among themselves and snoring while fast asleep in bed, how can they keep the government on its toes?
