Ireti Doyle talks about her divorce from her ex-husband, Patrick Doyle, saying, “I Will Never Give Myself Up As Clickbait.”

Ireti Doyle, a seasoned Nollywood actress, has talked candidly about her divorce from Patrick Doyle and her choice to keep quiet following their split.

According to Naija News, Ireti and Patrick got married in 2004, and the famous actor announced their divorce in 2023.

Ireti Doyle formally announced her divorce from her spouse in a social media post, but she is keeping his name because she built her brand on it for years.

Ireti Doyle stated in an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi Brown that she chose to keep quiet following their divorce because the matter is private.

The actress emphasized that she would never be clickbait and that her family and a few guests at their wedding were the only people she owed an explanation to about the divorce.

The seasoned actress pointed out that although breakups are always unpleasant, especially in long-term relationships, it is preferable to heal rather than express resentment online.

Ireti Doyle went on to say that instead than venting online following a divorce, people should learn to spend more time talking to themselves and figuring out what went wrong in the marriage.

“Let’s talk about your marriage and the divorce with your ex. You were both quiet, we didn’t hear from you, and you didn’t tell us anything. What would you say that experience has taught you or formed who you are today?” Morayo inquired.

“First of all, you didn’t hear anything because it wasn’t your business,” Ireti stated. There is a celebration when two people get married. Unfortunately, something goes wrong and you are unable to continue traveling together. If you owe anyone an explanation at all, it’s the little group of friends and family that came together on the first day. You see, it doesn’t matter to the bigger audience you’re performing for.

For my part, I would never intentionally expose myself as clickbait. Who are you justifying your situation to when you will never prevail? It hurts to terminate a long-term relationship, much less get married. It hurts not to assign responsibility, regardless of the situation. In order to avoid repeating the same error, you must devote the energy you are using performing for an audience that doesn’t care to sit down, delve deeply, and comprehend what went wrong.
