Five Well-Known Nigerian Stars Who Were Sexually Abused

Following the contentious old posts of Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage as Simi, sexual abuse was a hot topic on social media.

According to Naija News, comments like “love to kiss d kids at my mum’s daycare, they’re super adorable and I’m crazy abt ’em” and “Why this four year old boy tryna put hand inside ma shet?????” were among the entries that mentioned the kids at her mother’s daycare. “Oh, Ogbeni wash it!” and so forth.

Some social media users strongly objected to the reappearance of the old 𝕏 posts, viewing them as improper and demanding an inquiry.

Popular celebrities who have openly discussed experiencing sexual abuse are highlighted in this article by Naija News.

1. Oluwadolarz: In a recent video posted on his Instagram page, Nigerian comedian Olamide Ogunleye, better known by his stage name Oluwadolarz, described how a female neighbor he identified as Aunty Ramota sexually assaulted him when he was six years old.

He clarified that the abuse continued for a year, emphasizing that he had no one to confide in and was too young to comprehend what was going on.

“Yes, I was six years old when I was six,” he stated. My mother was still in nursing school at the time, so I was living with my grandmother. Ramota was therefore always at home when I returned. She is the only person at home, and she seems to be there all the time. Ramota would also take me to our house’s backyard and engage in various activities every time I returned from school. It’s insane, from leaking to…

I’m saying this because I’m starting to see how it might have ruined my life. I believe it truly ruined my life. Because it ruined my sexual life and many aspects of who I am that I am unable to discuss here. The harm that such things do to a person’s life is irreversible.

  1. Foluke Daramola: In a 2013 interview with media personality Kikelomo Atanda-Owo on #RealTalkwithKike, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola disclosed that her first marriage was impacted by being raped at a young age.

The Yoruba actress claimed that a tenant at her parents’ home had sexually assaulted her.

“I was raped at the age of 17 and every blame came back to me,” she stated. People wanted to know what I was wearing that attracted the rapist. I was a shadow of myself because I retreated into my shell and took care of my own wounds. Now that I’m moving on, my marriage is under stress, and part of the reason we had to split ways was due of my rigidity.

  1. Ifu Ennada: Former Big Brother Naija contestant Ifu Ennada bravely discussed how being raped caused depression in an Instagram post in 2018.

The reality TV actress disclosed in the post that she was a virgin until 2016, when a male figure in the entertainment sector sexually assaulted her and gave her a sexually transmitted infection.

“My Virginity Story: Rape & Depression,” she wrote. When I said I hadn’t actually had sex during a Truth or Dare game on Big Brother House, my emotions were stirred. People took that to mean that I was claiming to be a virgin.

In actuality, I was a virgin until I was sexually assaulted by a member of the entertainment industry in 2016. This person also gave me a sexually transmitted infection. They also threatened me, and I was terrified of the criticism on social media.

  1. Lola Omotayo: Peter of P’Square’s wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, revealed in 2014 that a Catholic priest had molested her.

Lola, who starred in the television series Dare2Dream, claimed that the experience upset her emotionally and caused her to become rebellious.

“I was molested by a Catholic priest when I was a young girl in my early teens in high school,” she stated. I put the blame on myself. I felt embarrassed, so I kept it a secret. I carried the guilt and resentment with me for years because I couldn’t tell anyone since they would all blame me.

  1. Oyemykke: Media celebrity Abisoye Olukoya Michael, better known by his stage as Oyemykke, recently described how a 30-year-old family friend named Aunty Saida mistreated him when he was four years old, leaving him with lifelong emotional scars.

“I was raped by four different women in my childhood,” he stated. An older woman disvirgined me. I was actually raped several times till I was twelve. That’s one of the causes of my extreme hypersexuality.

“I still talk to therapists today.” When I was four years old, Aunty Saida was the first to rape me. She played with my little manhood and repeatedly abused me. I was four years old, and Aunty Saida was between 28 and 30 years old.
