A Kano-based businessman, Alhaji Rabiu Salisu, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Rukubi Village, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
On Friday, the kidnapping was confirmed by the Nasarawa State Police Command.
The command said the incident was reported at about 4:30 pm by Murtala Abubakar of Olam Company in Rukubi Village.
Salisu was traveling out of Rukubi Village when the attackers took him, according to the police.
“The Divisional Police Officer of Ekye Division, on receipt of the report, mobilised a team of policemen in collaboration with local vigilantes to the scene,” the police command said.
The command stated that cops had combed the surrounding bushes, and that rescue activities were underway in an effort to locate Salisu and catch the kidnappers.
The public was requested by police to offer any information that could help the operation.
