Pogba is cut from Monaco’s Champions League roster.

According to ESPN, AS Monaco has excluded Paul Pogba from their Champions League roster for the knockout stages in order to make room for players purchased during the January transfer window.

According to reports, the French team made the decision to make room for newcomers Simon Adingra and Wout Faes, who are both anticipated to be important players in the Champions League playoff matches against Paris Saint-Germain later this month.

Pogba, who turns 33 next month, has had a challenging season with little playing time and persistent fitness problems. This season, he has only made three appearances for Monaco, all as short substitutes: two five-minute cameos against PSG and Rennes in November, and another appearance off the bench against Brest.

After serving an 18-month penalty for doping, the former Juventus player joined Monaco in June. Before experiencing minor thigh issues and then an ankle injury that further delayed his return, he first had trouble regaining full match fitness.

Due to a calf injury he suffered in early December, Pogba is now sidelined, although it is said that he will return in the near future.

However, according to insiders, he was not expected to play a significant role in the Champions League, as Monaco prioritized the inclusion of their January acquisitions, who are expected to start against PSG.
