Mikel Arteta denies Guardiola’s compliments and maintains that Arsenal isn’t yet the best team in the world.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has dismissed Pep Guardiola’s assertion that the Gunners are the finest team in world football right now, stating that a title like that can only be attained by consistent success and significant trophies.

Speaking to the media prior to Manchester City’s Premier League match against Wolves, Guardiola had called Arsenal the best team in the world of football. Given the intense competition between the two title hopefuls in recent seasons, the remarks immediately generated discussion.

However, Arteta was not in the mood to accept the compliment when it was made to him during his own press conference prior to Sunday’s league match between Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arteta responded, “I don’t know,” when questioned about Guardiola’s evaluation.

We’re a team that strives for continuous improvement, and while we’re doing a lot of things correctly, we’re still far from flawless.

You have to win a lot of things [trophies] to be associated with that [world’s best team], and we haven’t.

Even though the North London team has received recognition for their play, consistency, and growth under the Spanish coach, their trophy cabinet is still a benchmark when compared to the best in Europe.
