Following a fatal accident in Nigeria, Anthony Joshua receives rib therapy.

Months after the automobile accident that claimed the lives of two of his best friends in Nigeria, Anthony Joshua, the two-time world heavyweight champion, is receiving extensive treatment for his ribs.

Ten days after defeating Jake Paul in six rounds in Miami, Anthony Joshua, 36, was engaged in the deadly collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on December 29, according to Naija News.

Kevin “Latz” Ayodele, his personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a longtime rehabilitation therapist, were killed in the collision.

Two days after being released from the hospital with minor injuries, Joshua returned to the UK to attend the funerals of his deceased “brothers.”

The former champion recently posted pictures of rib therapy sessions to Snapchat, illustrating the difficult healing process.

“Protocol for rehabilitation.” Joshua wrote, “You realize that you are stronger than you think when you go through (through) certain things.”

The lawsuit involving his driver, Adeniyi Kayode, was postponed until March 13 in a Sagamu magistrate’s court because he is still recovering.

Before the collision raised questions about Joshua’s immediate boxing plans, he was scheduled to fight in March. Eddie Hearn, his promoter, thinks the British celebrity will make a comeback to the ring later this year.

“At first, AJ was supposed to fight in March and then take on Tyson Fury in August. In February, Hearn told Boxing Scene, “That’s not happening.”

He won’t be able to return to camp just yet, but I think he will return in late summer. I’m investigating ways to get him back into the ring in July.

In the meantime, Fury, 37, who expressed sorrow to Joshua following the tragedy, has decided not to take on his longtime British adversary just yet.

“I don’t want to compete head-to-head with someone who is now struggling. I’ve had a lot of terrible experiences. The WBC champion remarked, “I wish them boys all the best.”

In April, Fury will make his comeback on Netflix against Arslanbek Makhmudov.
