According to reports, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has presented the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with a 19-point list of requirements in order to negotiate a contract extension.
A move to Ligue 1 team Marseille was rumored for Chelle, who in January 2025 signed a two-year contract with the NFF that included an optional one-year extension.
Sport journalist Shina Oludare claims that after what he called a thorough analysis and fact-checking of the document, the Franco-Malian coach formally presented the proposed terms to the NFF on January 22, 2026.
In addition to requesting monthly meetings with all national team coaches, the proposal included a $130,000 monthly compensation that would include the coach, his technical staff, and personal assistant.
A private SUV with a driver and security is also provided, as is a home in a safe neighborhood with electricity available around-the-clock, a furnished office with a projector for strategic analysis, and internet access.
According to reports, the proposal also includes provisions for GPS, flight tickets for the coach’s wife and two kids, and the provision of training equipment that meets the coach’s needs.
The suggested words are 19 points.
1. A private vehicle (SUV) with security and a driver.
2. A home in a secure setting with a constant power source (electricity) for the entire day.
3. A furnished office equipped with an analytical projector.
4. Access to the internet.
5. Business class and economy tickets for the wife and two kids (Eric and wife).
6. GPS availability.
7. Provision of appropriate equipment based on the coach’s needs.
8. The coach has the authority to select international friendly matches based on opponents.
9. Programs for camping.
10. The coach will start youngster development initiatives.
11. The ability for the coach to go, observe, keep an eye on, and interact with national team players overseas.
- The coach will have the opportunity to visit the local league in order to find players that might be included into the senior national team, A U23, U20, and U17.
- No meddling with player calls or team selection.
- A working contract for my workers must be issued by the NFF.
- Salary must be paid by the 30th of each month at the latest.
- Bonus and allowance based on the organization of the federation.
- Ask that my PA be added to the framework of bonuses and allowances.
- The suggested monthly compensation is $130,000.00 (one hundred thirty thousand dollars). The sum includes my PA and all of my technical crew.
- All national team coaches meet once a month.
