Senator Nenadi Usman, who is perhaps the first female National Chairman of a major political party, is expected to officially take over the Labour Party’s (LP) National Secretariat.
The Julius Abure-led section of the party had previously held the secretariat in Abuja’s Utako District until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently formally recognized Usman and her team.
A banner with pictures of Usman and Senator Darlington Nwochocha, the acting national secretary, is already being raised around the building in anticipation of a ceremony that will mark the start of a new era.
Details will be provided later.
