Denge Josef Onoh, the Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly and a former South-East spokesperson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has advised Hon. Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, to concentrate on her ministerial duties rather than speculating about the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential ticket.

In response, Onoh admitted that the minister’s remarks mirrored the political calculations that guided the APC’s electoral strategy for 2023, which garnered significant support in the North. He insisted, however, that talks about the 2027 ticket were premature and might divert attention from party consolidation and governance.

He stated that the national leadership of the APC would confer with governors and other important stakeholders before making choices about the party’s presidential ticket.

According to Onoh, “President Tinubu and the APC leadership have consistently demonstrated a commitment to inclusive representation, and any decisions on the ticket will be made strategically by the party’s leadership.”

He emphasized that Musawa’s portfolio is crucial to implementing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pointing out that the creative economy, tourism, arts, and cultural sectors have enormous potential to boost employment, income growth, and national identity.

As part of continuous efforts to fortify the party across the country, Onoh added that established party organizations, like as state executives, governors, and the APC National Working Committee, are principally responsible for party mobilization and grassroots participation.

Onoh concluded by stating that unity, efficient leadership, and concerted work at all party levels would be critical to the APC’s chances in the 2027 general election.

Regardless of the final makeup of the party’s presidential ticket, he expressed confidence that under President Tinubu’s leadership, the APC would build on its accomplishments and maintain its competitiveness in 2027.
