For the country’s general elections in 2027, the Nigerian Senate has taken a new step to boost the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) budget.
According to Naija News, the Senate is requesting an extra ₦30 billion so that INEC can hold the election in 2027.
The Senate committee on electoral matters took the action after attributing the anticipated increase to logistical concerns.
As you may remember, INEC first suggested allocating roughly ₦873 billion for the elections.
Details will be provided later.
