In order to prove its allegation of cyberstalking against Omoyele Sowore, the Department of official Services, or DSS, played video proof of President Bola Tinubu’s speech on his official visit to Brazil on August 26, 2025.
As DSS attorney Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN) accompanied Cyril Nosike, the first prosecution witness (PW-1) and a service employee, in testifying before Judge Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja, the video tape was played.
The prosecution also submitted Sowore’s message, which he put on Meta (previously known as Facebook) under his X name, in which he called the president a “criminal,” along with the responses that followed, including a certificate of compliance.
For the PW-1’s cross-examination and continuation hearing, the judge postponed the case to January 27.
Sowore is listed as the only defendant in the amended charge, which was filed on December 5 and is stamped FHC/ABJ/CR/484/2025.
The names of the second and third defendants were removed from the modified accusation, despite the fact that Sowore, X Incorp (previously Twitter), and Meta (Facebook) Incorp were listed as first, second, and third defendants in the previous charge, respectively.
