President: Iran will not give in to overly demanding demands on its nuclear program.

Following the resumption of negotiations between Tehran and the United States, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Wednesday that his nation will “not yield to excessive demands” about its nuclear program.

Additionally, he asserted that Iran was not pursuing an atomic weapon and stated that it was prepared for “any verification” of its nuclear program.

For the first time since the US launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites during the conflict with Israel in June of last year, Iran and the US resumed talks last week.

In order to bring peace and tranquility to the region, Pezeshkian stated, “Our Iran will not yield in the face of aggression, but we are continuing dialogue with our neighbors with all our strength.”

He was giving a speech to commemorate the 47th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic revolution in Tehran’s Azadi Square.

He continued by saying, “Our nation, Iran, will not give in to their unreasonable demands.”

While the United States wants to discuss the Islamic republic’s ballistic missile program and its support for militant organizations in the region, Iran wants the discussions to stay focused solely on its nuclear program.

Although Israel and Western nations think Iran is attempting to obtain a nuclear weapon, Iran maintains that its nuclear program is benign.

Supporters of Iran’s leadership gather in large numbers each year to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 revolution that overthrew the US-backed shah.

An AFP correspondent observed a significant security presence at Azadi Square on Wednesday, which was greater than in prior years.

Women wearing veils hoisted images of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s top leader, and waved the Islamic republic’s flag.

A widespread protest movement in Iran last month led to a significant crackdown, and the US threatened military force to defend the protesters.
