An ex-minister from France is called to clarify Epstein ties.

According to a source close to the administration, Jack Lang, the former culture minister of France, has been called before the foreign ministry to explain his connections to convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, AFP reported Thursday.

According to the source, the foreign minister was “asked to summon him so he can give an explanation” by the offices of the president and prime minister.

Lang had been “summoned,” a foreign ministry source told AFP, without providing any other information.

AFP asked Lang, 86, for comment, but he did not immediately reply.

After the family’s ties to Epstein were made public, Lang’s daughter Caroline resigned on Monday as the leader of a film producers’ association.

Jack Lang would not exclude out leaving his position as director of the Arab World Institute in Paris on Wednesday.

However, according to a source close to President Emmanuel Macron, his office feels Lang has to “consider the institution” that he has been chairing since 2013.

The Langs have not been charged, and their names appearing among the millions of documents the US Justice Department made public about Epstein do not necessarily indicate misconduct.
