Two members of the Nollywood production crew were discovered deceased on the set.

An inquiry into the unexplained deaths of two Nollywood production crew members who were discovered dead inside a parked car in a Lekki Phase 1 location where a film was being shot has been opened by the Lagos State Criminal inquiry Department, SCID, Yaba.

Walter Odediran, a creative video filmmaker known as filmmaker Carrinqton, and Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, were named among the deceased.

On the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, their bodies were found within Imeh’s vehicle. Boma, a former housemate on Big Brother Naija, is said to have directed the movie.

According to sources, the two men showed up early to set up the lighting. They finished their setup in the middle of the morning and then relaxed in Imeh’s darkened Nissan until they received more instructions.

A crew member brought yam and omelette for breakfast at around eleven in the morning.

In the car, both males were observed lounging while the air conditioner ran. By lunchtime, calls to their phones went unanswered, which caused anxiety. Colleagues found them in the car, unmoving, later that night.

Walter’s older brother Kola Odediran told Vanguard: “Walter and I were like twin brothers.” He was our family’s lastborn child, and he was 36. He had a tight relationship with Godstime Imeh. They were employed.together on film productions.

He described his brother’s last moments as follows: “They had a medical scenario to shoot at Evercare Hospital on Saturday, February 7. They made the decision to rest in GeeTee’s vehicle at around ten in the morning. The last time anyone saw them alive was when food was served to them. They were discovered inside the car after the shooting was finished, which was around 7 or 8 p.m. GeeTee was collapsed, with blood from his lips, eyes, and nose, while my brother was sitting up straight with foam at his mouth. Whatever transpired seemed to happen all at once.

“The case was first reported at Maroko Police Station but was not treated urgently,” Odediran bemoaned the first police response. We had to report it to SCID, Yaba, where it was noted that the death was not natural and that an autopsy and inquiry were necessary. Boma, the boy who served the lunch, and the producer were all invited.

Police have verified that they are interviewing hospital administration, the food seller, the staff person who brought the lunch, and the film producer.

The food vendor is still being held.

The presence of large industrial generators over the parking area is one of the mechanical problems, environmental hazards, or potential ingestion that investigators are looking at.

To ascertain the precise cause of death, forensic processes such as autopsy, toxicology testing, vehicle mechanical inspection, and CCTV review are still being conducted. According to authorities, pending laboratory investigations, all options are still open.

Our family has had a really tough time. My mom is inconsolable. He was born last. There were only two of us boys. For us, this has been really terrible,” Kola Odediran continued.
