After her old posts against children were widely criticized, Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko responded.
According to Naija News, an old post from March 14, 2012, talked about a four-year-old boy named David and how he showed Simi devotion.
She claimed in the since-deleted tweet that the child was approaching her physically and resting his head next to her, and she was unsure of how to react to his interest.
Some social media users criticized the tweet as it swiftly went viral. Numerous people voiced their concerns about the content and demanded that her previous posts be examined more closely.
Simi responded by saying that she wasn’t well-known at the time and that the tweets were a reflection of her day-to-day experiences working at her mother’s daycare.
She said that nothing in the posts was intended to be offensive and that they were intended to highlight the mischievous and adorable nature of kids.
She went on to say that she wanted to be clear that what she had said was being misinterpreted online, even though she had no explanation.
Even though she acknowledged that the tweets may be interpreted in a number of ways, the singer insisted that they did not come from a place of depravity.
She recalled pursuing a career in music and sharing personal details of her life on social media, including amusing posts about children.
In order to protect her family, she said, her team has since deleted some of the tweets.
