A suspected bandit threatens to attack border communities in Niger and Kebbi.

A video clip of a suspected bandit named Usman threatening people around Kwanji, Babanna in Borgu and Agwara Local Government Areas of Niger State, as well as several communities along the Niger-Kebbi border, was posted by Bakastine, a well-known conflict reporter covering the Northwest.

The security reporter posted about the development on his social media profile on Wednesday, according to Naija News.

Usman said in the video that Fulani residents in the impacted areas would no longer seek Miyetti Allah’s help or take their complaints to court, and he urged them to leave.

Usman, who is also identified as a Fulani man, is said to have warned that inhabitants would suffer the repercussions if multiple communities in the vicinity were destroyed.

Additionally, he asked anybody who got the video to forward it to influential Fulani leaders and government officials.

The individual especially called on the governors of the states of Niger and Kebbi to be made aware of the threat.

Usman asserted that prior attempts by Fulani communities to pursue justice in the legal system had been unsuccessful.

He questioned the value of pursuing their complaints in court, implying that the legal system had not produced the intended result.

He also issued a warning that locals would not be permitted to farm in the impacted areas, which might have detrimental effects on farming operations and local people’ means of subsistence.

Bakastine claims that the purported threats occur in the context of ongoing security and intercommunal conflicts in areas of Niger State and towns near the Niger-Kebbi border.

There are worries that the most recent threats could exacerbate already-existing tensions if they are not promptly addressed because the impacted areas have had security issues and conflicts involving farming and pastoral communities.

Bakastine called on the governments of Niger and Kebbi State, along with pertinent security agencies, to take the claimed threat seriously and to look into the video and take the necessary action.
