Following the striker’s pivotal performance in Galatasaray’s derby victory over Fenerbahçe, Okan Buruk has emphasized the significance of Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen scored the first goal in the 3-0 victory to signal his return from injury, and his manager gave him high marks for his performance.
“Osimhen is significant and useful to us. He’s a somebody who makes his teammates perform better,” Buruk remarked.
It was his 17th league game in the starting lineup. He hasn’t participated in half of the games.
“Everyone played well, but Osimhen and Yunus in particular did a great job. They are the guys of the match, in my opinion.
The goal increased Galatasaray’s lead in the Turkish Süper Lig title chase and brought the Nigerian’s total to 20 in all competitions this season.
Later, Osimhen reaffirmed his coach’s belief that he is prepared to perform well against any opponent as the season moves into its pivotal stage.
“I can score against any team if given the opportunity. I think I do a good job at what I do. “We’re getting closer to the championship,” he remarked.
According to Naija News, Osimhen also denied Fenerbahçe’s accusations about pre-match problems, saying, “I don’t follow social media, but someone at the training ground mentioned Fenerbahçe’s complaint.” I don’t get it. One of the top teams in the league is their opponent. It doesn’t make much sense to complain about anything like that.
