According to Sumner Sambo, editor of Political News, Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, is no longer a major player in Nigerian politics.
Sambo made this statement on Monday’s Morning Show on Arise Television.
He said that the oil-rich state has no direction and that Fubara’s followers are perplexed.
For his fans in Rivers State, Sambo claimed that Fubara is among the worst political disappointments.
Sambo further claimed that Fubara is pursuing an automatic ticket and is relying on President Bola Tinubu to counter the influence of Nyesom Wike in Rivers State politics.
“What else would you expect from someone who hasn’t even been able to define his own political party?” he asked. He is attempting to mobilize support for President Tinubu since, at the moment, no one knows or even considers Governor Fubara to be one of those politicians whose voice truly matters in the political system.
“He has truly lost out. According to what I’ve heard, he has been attempting to argue for an automatic ticket and is hoping that the president will be able to put an end to the Wike phenomena in Rivers State. For this reason, he has gathered all of the traditional leaders in the southern region of the nation to see if they can encourage support for the president.
“Very wonderful. I applaud him for that, but I can tell him that he is one of the biggest political disappointments for his supporters in Rivers State because everyone is simply there, perplexed, and there is no political direction or progress.
