Stanley Nwabali bemoans West Africa’s subpar leagues

Stanley Nwabali, goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, claimed that low player pay and inadequate institutions cause leagues in West Africa to lag behind those in South Africa and Morocco.

Stanley Nwabali, who is now without a club, told Brila FM that players are still being forced to look for possibilities elsewhere due to low salary and a lack of organization.

“Our leagues are inferior in West Africa. “We wish to travel to Europe, South Africa, and Morocco,” Nwabali stated.

“For a particular level of your team, the league offers somewhat excellent compensation.

What are you leaving for if your league is good, you are paid, and you have sponsors?

According to Nwabali, many football players have little reason to stay at home because only a small number of teams in the area can provide competitive earnings. He continued by saying that Moroccan and South African contests have a distinct advantage due to improved management and infrastructure.

Before joining Chippa United in 2022, the goalie started his career in the Nigeria Premier Football League, playing for Go Round FC, Enyimba FC, Lobi Stars FC, and Katsina United FC.

Months after splitting from South African-based Chippa United, Nwabali is reportedly looking for a new team, according to Naija News.
