After the Super Falcons win, the Cameroonian coach laments, “We Let Nigeria Lay Siege On Us.”

After witnessing Cameroon lose 3-1 to the Nigerian Super Falcons in Tuesday’s international friendly in Yaoundé, Indomitable Lionesses head coach Mike Ndoumou acknowledged that his team gave control to Nigeria.

According to Naija News, Cameroon had drawn blood at the Military Stadium in an attempt to improve on their 1-0 victory against Nigeria in their previous encounter last weekend. Rather, the momentum faltered.

Christiane gave the Lionesses the lead early on and momentarily cheered up the home crowd. Nigeria immediately regained their composure. Before Omorinsola Babajide and Michelle Alozie finished the turnaround with clinical finishes, Chiwendu Ihezuo leveled the score.

Mike Ndoumou, the head coach of Cameroon, said that despite a strong start, his team lost control of the match.

“We allowed Nigeria to play in our half and lay siege to us. “The goals came very quickly,” he remarked after the game.

Nigeria, led by head coach Justine Madugu, showed sharper movement and greater urgency after the break, pinning Cameroon deep and forcing errors across the back line.

At the center of the comeback was Babajide. The forward grabbed a goal and set up another in a lively display that highlighted her growing influence in the squad.

The AS Roma Women star said on 𝕏, “Excellent response from the team today.”
The Super Falcons will now devote all of their attention to getting ready for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
