Semi Ajayi’s long-awaited return to action has given Hull City, a Championship team, a much-needed boost.
Since suffering a hamstring injury at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Nigerian international has been sidelined. He missed the Tigers’ last seven games across all competitions due to the setback, which created a glaring defensive void during a hectic part of the season.
Now, assistant coach Dean Holden has provided a comforting update, indicating that the seasoned center-back is developing as anticipated.
According to Hull Live, Semi (Ajayi) is doing well, although he hasn’t returned to team training yet.
After leaving West Bromwich Albion last summer, Ajayi, 32, signed a free move to Hull City. He has made 12 league appearances since moving to the MKM Stadium and has one goal to his credit.
Hull fans will be hopeful that Ajayi’s comeback is imminent as the team strives for consistency in the final months of the Championship season, which is about to enter a pivotal phase.
Ahead of their pivotal Champions League matchup with Juventus, Galatasaray has received a crucial fitness boost from Victor Osimhen.
Supporters were alarmed when the Nigerian striker missed the Turkish champions’ 2-0 loss to Konyaspor on the road last weekend because of a minor knee injury. The 27-year-old returned to full training on Monday, perhaps allaying such concerns.
On Wednesday night, Okan Buruk’s team is getting ready for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off match at Juventus Stadium in Turin. After a spectacular 5-2 victory in the first leg, in which Osimhen provided two assists, Galatasaray travels with a sizable lead.
With six goals in the competition this season, the former Napoli forward has been the Yellow and Reds’ top scorer in Europe. As Galatasaray attempts to complete the task and guarantee a spot in the Round of 16, his return to full fitness may prove to be crucial.
