Former Justice Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, has stated that without the political framework of Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia would not have been elected.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Aondoakaa emphasized the value of loyalty and party discipline inside the All Progressives Congress.
He asserts that the APC is a nationally organized political organization and that its National Executive Committee’s decisions should be complied with.
You see, we need to have discipline, gratitude, and loyalty. Discipline is highly valued by political parties worldwide, and the structured APC in our nation depends heavily on loyalty and discipline. When the party’s NEC makes a decision, it seems to everyone that the decision should be followed. And that is precisely what occurred if you look across the nation,” he continued.
Benue State shouldn’t function independently of the party’s established procedures, he cautioned.
Benue cannot be isolated from other states, therefore. He said, “You see, party politics will inevitably have pressure groups within the party, but they shouldn’t escalate in a way that will distort the party’s chances in the upcoming election in our state.”
Aondoakaa maintained that Alia’s rise was mostly due to the Akume-led political bloc.
He went on to say, “The state will be fighting with the organization that generated the governor, and Senator George Akume is the group that actually produced the current governor.
