Amid the Cristiano Ronaldo chase, Roberto Carlos insists Pele is still football’s only player with 1000 goals.

In response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s quest for the illustrious 1000 career goals milestone, Real Madrid great Roberto Carlos stated that the Portuguese striker will not be the first to do it.

The late Santos great is still the only player to have officially scored 1000 goals in his career, the Brazilian legend told OJogo, arguing that Pele’s long-celebrated milestone should stand alone in football history.

Carlos argues it wouldn’t change history, but he thinks Ronaldo will eventually reach the landmark.

“For those who love Cristiano and soccer, it’s great to see him keep making history and breaking records,” he stated on World Soccer Talk.

Cristiano might be able to join Pele, who was the only player to ever score 1000 goals. In the Saudi league, he appears content and confident.

I have no doubt that he will accomplish that goal. He never gets hurt. Portugal should be proud of him since he continues to play so well and sets a great example for others.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner still has a lot to give at the greatest level, the former Brazil left back added, urging Ronaldo not to think about retiring anytime soon.

He declared, “Cristiano can’t stop, ever.” I’ll give him a call and tell him not to stop playing if he ever decides to do so. Even if he can only move with one leg or must crawl, he should never give up playing soccer.

“Any boy who wants to start playing gets a lot of strength and energy from him.”

Despite missing the team’s last three games, Ronaldo, who currently has 961 career goals, is still working to reach the milestone with Al Nassr. Carlos is still optimistic that the Portuguese star will reach the milestone, even though he hasn’t been there recently.
