Citing the need for more extensive discussions and improved planning, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced the delay of its massive open-air stakeholders’ gathering that was originally scheduled for Tuesday.
In a statement released in Ibadan on Friday, APC Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare stated that the open meeting would now take place on a new date that would be notified as soon as feasible.
According to him, the purpose of the gathering, which was organized by the state APC leadership in collaboration with Oyo State Renewed Hope Ambassadors, was to introduce the idea of an intra-party rally that was recently held throughout the state’s 14 federal constituencies.
We recently showed the world that our great party has a powerful mechanism to address all of the internal issues that have impeded our growth since 2019.
This was followed by an indication of true peace, harmony, and reconciliation amongst APC leaders and members.
Since we are all working toward the same goal, we want to raise the bar this time by enlisting more APC members from both inside and beyond the state.
The typical patriot desires President Bola Tinubu to serve a second term in order to build on the accomplishments of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Since we are ready to retake Oyo State and return Mr. President in 2027, he stated, “we want to start early enough and make sure that everyone is on deck to run a hitch-free and fruitful electioneering.”
In addition to formally welcoming some influential figures and their followers from other political parties into the APC, Sadare said the planned meeting would serve as a means of urging party members and other interested parties to maintain the unity of the party for the benefit of society and the party.
He committed to updating the state’s citizens on the party’s readiness for the general elections in 2027. (NAN)
