To combat child malnutrition, Lagos LG launches a nutrition program.

A community-based nutrition initiative has been launched by the Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State to address malnutrition in children between the ages of 0 and 5.

The council’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Johnson Akinpelu, made this claim in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.

According to Akinpelu, the program is a timely and significant solution to the community’s most urgent child health issues.

He claims that the Nigerian Exchange Group and the Health Emergency Initiative work together strategically to carry out the scheme.

The exercise would target disadvantaged children and their caretakers in District I of the local council region, according to Akinpelu.

It is anticipated that the initiative will directly assist about 120 children and their caretakers.

Malnutrition continues to be a serious problem that impacts children’s growth, survival, and general development. If it is not addressed, it will have long-term effects on social productivity and health.

“Nutritional screening, nutrition support, caregiver education, and referrals when necessary are among the program components,” he stated.

The project is a proactive approach to early detection, prevention, and efficient management of malnutrition in society, according to the chairman.
