Bundesliga: Harry Kane’s contract extension is being discussed with Bayern Munich

Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, has stated that the team is in negotiations with Harry Kane over a possible contract extension.

In August 2023, the England captain signed a four-year contract worth an initial €100 million (£86.4 million) to join the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane has had a successful run since moving to Munich, making 126 games in all competitions with 119 goals and 30 assists.

At a Bundesliga game in Frankfurt, Eberl reportedly said, “We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” according to BBC Sports on Tuesday.

“Everyone is aware that a decision must be made eventually.”

Kane stated in October that his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit” and that he “could definitely” see himself staying at Bayern.

In an attempt to surpass former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga season, he has scored 34 goals in 30 games for Vincent Kompany’s team this season, including 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga games.

With one game remaining, Kane has also assisted Bayern in moving up to second place in the Champions League group phase table.

Harry feels at ease in Munich and has a lot of faith in us.

He’s settled in with his family. Consequently, we have no justification for hurrying, stated Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of Bayern.
